My UX Story
Being a first-generation immigrant and dealing with loss
Facing the challenges of relocating to an unfamiliar country with my family at the age of 10, and watching my parents bravely navigate adapting to a new culture. This was further tested by my father’s battle with cancer and his eventual passing. It was a profound lesson in resilience and perseverance for me, even as a child. These challenges taught me early on about the power of standing strong in the face of adversity. Through it all, I've learned to tackle life's hurdles with determination and to keep going. These experiences, as tough as they were, have lit my way, helping me navigate life's ups and downs with a sense of grace and unwavering resilience.
My user-centered approach to interpreting
Leveraging my background as an immigrant and a UX Designer, I bring empathy and a unique perspective to my role as an interpreter. My personal experience with language learning and cultural adaptation enhances my sensitivity to cultural nuances, enriching my communication. Applying UX principles, I tailor my interpreting to suit client needs, navigate cultural contexts, and switch interpreting strategies effectively. My approach ensures clear understanding and inclusivity, bridging gaps caused by linguistic and cultural differences.

My passion for UX Design, fueled by my experiences with cultural adaptation and overcoming communication barriers, infuses my work with empathy, driving me to develop intuitive, accessible digital solutions for diverse users. My background as a medical and Educational interpreter and deep understanding of user-centered design principles are particularly beneficial in health tech and Ed-tech settings. I aim to use technology to improve lives, whether through enhancing Telehealth usability or creating platforms for healthcare workers. My design philosophy centers on user research and feedback, ensuring technology serves as a bridge, not a barrier.
